first let me say that i just turned 2200 miles on my conversion/rebuild and no issues with the motors internals, everything is nice and sound, other than this small oil drip coming out the back, but it could be from oil pressure issue i had. gotta replace sychros and bearings in tranny soon so ill tackle that then. anywany, i have heard conflicting information on turning the crankshaft due to it being hardened after production. people say no u cant turn it at all youll get into soft metal but in the manual it does mention turning it .25 mm if not within specs. of course anymore would seem sure to get into soft metal and the manual doesnt say u can. i turned mine 2 yrs ago the first time i rebuilt my engine when it was still n/a and drove it hard with nitrous and when i sent it back to the guy that turned it the first time just to polish it and see if it was still okay, it was good, so im curious, since finding a good crank is getting harder and harder, should i be on the hunt for another crank or am i really gonna be okay????
